The service has maintained a high level of customer satisfaction at 97%. Keoride is an app-based service with customers giving it a rating of 4.8 out of 5, which allows customers to order a vehicle when they want to travel, connecting them anywhere within the service area.
The Keoride trial is a collaboration between the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT), multi modal transport operator Keolis Downer and technology provider VIA. Since launching in January 2020 there has been over 225,000 passenger trips delivered.
Keolis Downer CEO David Franks says, “It’s great to see the community continue to embrace the service and we are delighted to continue our partnership with DIT to deliver world class On Demand Transport operations for the local community. The service was a success from the start, and had the fastest uptake for On Demand services in Australia”
According to a recent survey, 98% of Keoriders see the service as an essential part of the public transport system in the Hills in the future and would continue to use it if it became permanent.
52% would have used a car either as a driver or passenger prior to Keoride commencing in January 2020 and 40% take multiple trips each week.
Customers have been delighted with the service with one customer saying “I love it. You have changed my life. I’m no longer house bound. Thank you.”
Another customer said, “Keoride has become an extremely reliable source of transportation for the community, especially for students and elders and those who are unable to drive.”
Keolis Downer Future Mobility Director Segolene Deeley says “It’s exciting to see that Keoride has encouraged people out of their individual cars and changed travel behaviours, with 52% of our customers no longer using their car to make trips within the service area .”
