Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has recently awarded the Berry to Bomaderry Princes Highway upgrade project to the Downer Seymour Whyte Joint Venture.
The upgrade will see 10.5 kilometres of four-lane highway constructed between Mullers Lane, Berry and Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry.
“Downer is very pleased to deliver this important highway upgrade with our partners Seymour Whyte. It will improve road safety and traffic efficiency, reduce delays and increase road capacity to deliver better and more reliable journeys for the local community and visiting motorists,” said Karl McCarthy, General Manager NSW, Downer Infrastructure Projects.
“More importantly, the Berry to Bomaderry Princes Highway upgrade project will allow for future growth in a developing region.”
Seymour Whyte Regional Manager – Southern, Steve Lambert, said, “The Downer Seymour Whyte Joint Venture brings together a winning combination of in-depth understanding of the project, smart construction methodology and strong complementary skill sets.
“This is the first time that both companies have worked in joint venture together, and we look forward to working as one team to deliver this vital piece of regional infrastructure.”
The Downer Seymour Whyte Joint Venture will undertake major civil and roadworks including underpasses, overpass bridges, u-turn facilities, intersections, interchanges and utility relocations.
Major construction is on track to start in mid-2018.
