Quality Principles
Downer’s 10 Quality Principles underpin how we govern quality. The principles are designed to sustain the trust and confidence of our customers and partners, maintain our status as an industry leader, and to ensure we deliver our projects, products and services right the first time, within budget and to schedule. Our 10 Quality Principles are:
Project and contract delivery
The Delivery Management Methodology sets out the ‘Downer way’ of delivering projects and contracts. The procedures, processes and tools are designed to deliver work in a quality, consistent and repeatable manner. This provides certainty and value for money for our customers.
The methodology covers all phases of a contract – from mobilisation and delivery, through to completion. The fundamentals of the Delivery Management Methodology are built around a defined criteria/category assigned to a project or contract, which is based on the complexity of the work involved. Downer also actively oversees its certificate, licensing and compliance obligations (for example, building and traders, liquor, security, prequalification, hazardous and dangerous goods) throughout the delivery lifecycle.
The continuous use and ongoing refinement of the Delivery Management Methodology ensures a strong handover and transfer of knowledge across the project/contract delivery lifecycle. It is based on a proven method of managing projects and contracts, and can be tailored to meet business-specific capabilities and customer or legislative requirements. This ensures a consistent and reliable outcome, which ultimately benefits our people, suppliers, customers and shareholders.
