Walk for Mental Fitness: four years, one purpose
29/09/2025
Back for its fourth year on 9 October 2026, the Walk for Mental Fitness brings Downer, Urban Utilities and delivery partners together to walk, talk and share.
Hosted by our Water team in south east Queensland, the Walk for Mental Fitness brings together our people, partners, and community to shine a light on mental wellbeing - both on and off the job.
Liam D’Arcy, HSEQ Manager Water South Water QUU, said the event involved a walk around New Farm Park in Brisbane, with well-being themed stations set up along the path of the walkers.
“Joining together with Urban Utilities and our delivery partners, we’re reinforcing the importance of collaboration when it comes to building mental fitness. This year the Walk for Mental Fitness will also welcome guest speaker Willie Tonga, professional footballer turned mentor, who is now focussed on building strength in local communities,” said Liam D’Arcy.
📅 Date: Thursday 9 October 2025
⏰ Time: 12pm – 3pm
📍 Location: New Farm Park, Picnic Area 3
“Last year, hundreds came together to walk, talk and share - focusing on everyday ways we can stay mentally fit. We recognise that it doesn’t matter which client or delivery partner you work with, when it comes to mental health – we all have a part to play.
“Thank you to Urban Utilities and our industry partners - WSP, John Holland, Fulton Hogan, Vaughn Civil, Munster, SRG Global, TDG Environmental and Actemium - for continuing to champion this annual event,” Liam said.
