Downer awarded $750 million Chevron contract
14/11/2025

Downer today announced that it had been awarded a contract by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd (Chevron) for the provision of maintenance and support services over a maximum term of 15 years.
The contract commences in January 2026, with an initial term of 10 years plus one five-year extension option. Downer estimates the total revenue over the full 15-year term to be $750 million, subject to the release of work orders by Chevron.
Under the contract, Downer will deliver maintenance, asset management and small capital projects for non-process infrastructure assets at Chevron’s Wheatstone and Gorgon facilities in Western Australia.
The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Peter Tompkins, said the new contract is testament to Downer’s industry expertise and track record of delivering efficiency and performance improvements for Chevron.
“Downer is a leader in the delivery of major maintenance services to customers in the Australian energy and industrial sectors,” Mr Tompkins said. “This contract builds on a strong, long-standing relationship with Chevron and reinforces our shared focus on keeping our people safe, driving performance, and collaboration.
“Together with Chevron, Downer is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for local and Indigenous communities throughout the life of this contract. We will continue to drive programs that empower people through employment pathways, and create opportunities for local and Indigenous-owned businesses.”
