In November 2010, Downer New Zealand's concerted campaign to improve energy usage helped us cut our annual fuel bill by $3 million in two years and won us the title of Supreme Winner in the 2010 EECA Awards.
In November 2009, our ‘Team up to Safety’ initiative to change the culture toward safety won a distinction at the Auckland Human Resources Institute of New Zealand HR ‘Initiative of the Year Awards’.
Our Way2Work workplace literacy program was recently recognised with the ‘Skills Highway’ award at the Equal Employment Opportunity Trust, Work and Life Awards. The program is New Zealand’s largest-ever single employer-led workplace literacy program.
