Hydrogen

Hydrogen is one of the most promising pathways to decarbonisation. It can be produced wholly from renewable technologies, enables large scale and long-term energy storage, has multiple applications across various industries and is able to be viably transported long distances.

From the technology required for green hydrogen production through to storage, transport, fueling and end user solutions, Downer’s operations sit across the whole value chain.

We are actively supporting domestic hydrogen projects and investing in capability across our Urban Services portfolio – particularly in rail, gas, water and asset services.

Our investment in hydrogen capability includes:
  • Collaborating with the National Hydrogen Skills working group and Australian universities to shape the skills and qualifications framework for the future hydrogen industry.
  • Forming strategic partnerships with key technology providers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to bring world-leading solutions to our customers.
  • Working with the CSIRO and major universities to support Australian capability.
  • Actively steering local hydrogen mobility projects.
