The contract is valued at up to $66 million and covers a range of different sized residential multi-dwelling units (MDUs) over the next two years in NSW, Victoria and the ACT.
The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said Downer won the MDU contract after a lengthy and detailed tender process.
“Downer has extensive experience building, operating and maintaining infrastructure for customers in the telecommunications sector and we have the expertise and scale to help NBN Co deliver high speed broadband across Australia,” Mr Fenn said.
“We look forward to working with NBN Co to deliver this MDU contract and we are also tendering for other opportunities to work with NBN Co to roll out this important national high speed broadband project.”
