In the current marketplace we are extremely aware of tyres and tyre management as a critical issue to the success of our business. Our wholly owned subsidiary, Otraco International, is the world’s leading Off-The-Road (OTR) tyre-management consulting and services company.

Otraco currently has over 40 contracts in place with major mining companies in Australia, New Zealand, South America and Southern Africa. Clients include Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group, BMA Coal, Newcrest, Codelco, Peabody Energy, Anglo American and Debswana Diamond Company.

Otraco’s technical staff are qualified and experienced professionals with a unique depth of expertise in tyre management technologies aimed at reducing tyre operating costs, maximising productivity and enhancing safety.

Operating at the forefront of its industry, Otraco has developed a wide range of information and analysis systems to identify new opportunities and solutions to minimise its clients’ total tyre-related costs. These do not only focus on direct costs (through extension of tyre life), but also on reduction in equipment downtime, and minimisation of overall tyre and rim repair costs.

The use of Otraco's intellectual property, software and management skills in overseas markets has grown substantially over the last three years. This was recognised at the 2013 51st Australian Export Awards, at which they won the Minerals and Energy category.

Otraco’s proprietary tyre-management software system OTRACOMTM combines proven tyre management expertise with the latest advances in online web technology, enabling clients to access real-time data via the Internet wherever they are in the world. OTRACOMTM now includes greenhouse gas life cycle assessment, which provides clients with a simple means of tracking and reporting their tyre-related CO2 emissions, as well as the more traditional tyre-performance trends that assist with reducing tyre-related costs.

At Otraco’s tyre training centre in Western Australia, trainees are able to work on real mining equipment just 30 minutes from the centre of Perth. The centre provides six-week courses for tyre fitters, with graduates attaining a Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical – Tyre Fitting Heavy (which has been customised to incorporate OTR).

Otraco’s wholly owned subsidiary Rimtec is a global distributor of tyre accessories, tyre sealants and lubricants, tyre handlers and parts, as well as earthmover wheels and rims. This ensures ongoing in-house support of Otraco’s core tyre management business and also offers clients complementary services through a single provider.

Otraco is a Registered Training Organisation, and is commercially independent of any tyre manufacturer, supplier or repairer.
